Roman Kent - Peace Project
"I think it had a good impact, because by doing this I was able to make someone else smile or feel comfortable, so then they might have passed on a smile, or been able to make some one else feel better. It also helped me to get to know people better, and to be able to be more social. It impacts the community, because then if people are smiling and making others be happy, it will hopefully help stop bulling, and other things that are going on in the world."
"I received messages from people who were having a rough day or really struggling who told me the impact that this had had on them. It was a really special experience for me. It also created a ripple effect where, because someone's day was brightened, they were able to affect people positively as well."
"I think that mine changed the perspective of my own view of myself and of my sisters. I think that it made me feel important and that if I did something simple everyday then I would have such a better day along with the other person that it affected."
"When I would help others I would see and feel how grateful they were. I loved it! I could tell that something that took little of my time, little effort could just make someones day."
"It made me notice the things people do that most others don't notice. I tried paying more attention to the people around me and to what they did to help others."
"Though I can't speak for others, I hope that other people noticed a difference in me and the way I acted. As for me, I feel like it made a huge difference in the way I spoke and acted."
"This project had an impact on me because it gave me the opportunity to learn more about tolerance and acceptance as I was preparing to teach others about. I hope it had an impact on the children we taught by preparing them to deal with the issues of hate present today in the world. And hopefully it will impact our community by spreading the ideas of tolerance to younger generations."
